The Pitsco 81695 Injection Molding Machine and Golf Tee Injection Mold provides students in grades 6-12 a hands-on activity that demonstrates the injection molding process. The molding machine has a self-regulating heater that warms up quickly and maintains a consistent temperature during use. It melts low-density polyethylene (LDPE) pellets (sold separately) to demonstrate how molded plastic shapes are produced. Its reservoir can hold enough LDPE pellets to produce two golf tees with the included golf tee injection mold. The mold is made of two aluminum plates to resist corrosion and tarnishing. The golf tee mold measures 2 x 3 x 1 inches (H x W x D). (H is height, the vertical distance from lowest to highest point; W is width, the horizontal distance from left to right; D is depth, the horizontal distance from front to back.)
The machine s overall measurements are 22 x 6 x 14 inches (H x W x D) when the handle is extended to its highest point. Its durable steel base provides stability during use, and the aluminum handle resists corrosion and tarnishing. The injection molding machine comes with a scoop for transferring LDPE pellets into the mold s reservoir and a 0.5 oz. bottle of 20821 Permatex Super Lube. An injection molding machine is typically used in an educational setting to demonstrate how to create molded plastic items.
Science education products incorporate applied math and science principles into classroom and homeschool-based projects. Teachers in pre-K, elementary, and secondary classrooms use science education kits and products alongside science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM) curriculum to demonstrate STEM concepts and real-world applications through hands-on activities. Science education projects include a broad range of activities, such as practical experiments in engineering, aeronautics, robotics, energy, chemistry, physics, biology, and geology.
Pitsco Education develops K-12 science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM) curriculum, educational kits, and classroom tools. The company, founded in 1971, is headquartered in Pittsburg, KS.
