1) Dog does not respond as usual. A healthy dog should be full of energy,and ears will move forth and back. Dog with sickness is always tired, has no desire for food, ears also would be clumsy. 

2) Dogs always lick their nose since it gets dry easily. Therefore, their nose is kind of wet and cool in normal. Their nose may also get dry when they just woke up. However, if it keeps dry or having running nose, the dog may gets cold or fever. Please urgently check body temperature for safety. Some of the symptoms of distemper are dried nose, lot of eye discharge and dried claw. 

3) Cat keeps drooling. Please check the oral cavity if there are mouth ulcers or bones or food left in the mouth. 

4) Check the fur. Cat with sickness would be too tired for licking their fur. The fur would become dry, dark and messy. It implies your cat may get sick.
