Description
The Pitsco 34131 Z-Mill is an engraving machine with an enclosed movable plate for engraving original designs on pieces of laminate as an industrial design project for students in grades 6-12 that demonstrates carving processes, mechanical force, and mathematical axes. The included software program allows students to create designs (or use predesigned computer images) on their PC and send them electronically to the Z-Mill. The Z-Mill provides two modes, manual and computer, that control the directional buttons of the engraver, and it has three different speeds for engraving with greater efficiency or control. A lightweight, impact-resistant acrylic shield hinges at the top front edge to provide access to and enclose the engraver for safer use. The engraver measures 17-3/4 x 14 x 15-1/2 inches (H x W x D). (H is height, the vertical distance from lowest to highest point; W is width, the horizontal distance from left to right; D is depth, the horizontal distance from front to back.) The Z-Mill comes with a software CD, a USB cable, 2-7/8 x 2-7/8-inch laminate pieces, double-stick tape, a power cord, a shim, and instructions.
