The Pitsco 39174 TETRIX Aluminum Sprocket and Chain Pack includes three sizes of sprockets and one length of size 25 steel roller chain for students in grades 9-12 building TETRIX robotics projects. The aircraft-grade aluminum sprockets come with 16, 24, and 32 teeth for building a chain drive that transmits mechanical energy on a robotics project. Aluminum resists corrosion and tarnishing, and is lightweight. The sprockets measure 35.8mm, 51.9mm, and 67.8mm in diameter. The steel roller chain is 5 feet long and works with all sizes of TETRIX sprockets. It can be cut to different lengths with the 39217 TETRIX Chain Breaker Tool (sold separately). The pack includes master links for reconnecting chains that have been cut to shorter lengths. TETRIX products reinforce science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) concepts for students in grades 9-12 studying robotics and building a working robot that demonstrates engineering, simple machines, force, and Newton s laws of motion.
