Description
In this third part of the Oz series, Dorothy, the heroine of The Wizard of Oz, appears again. She finds her way to Oz after falling overboard during a storm at sea on her way to Australia with Uncle Henry. Among other marvelous creatures, she meets Tik-Tok, a machine man who can do only what he is wound up to do; his thought, speech and action mechanisms work separately, and each must be properly wound. There is also the Hungry Tiger, who is a "disgracefully bad tiger" because his conscience doesn t allow him to eat fat babies, much as he would like to do this. When Dorothy arrives at the Emerald City she meets Ozma, now Princess of Oz, for the first time, and the two girls become fast friends.
