Aluminum Oxide
Migiwata sanding discs are made from aluminum oxide abrasive, a synthetic mineral that is tough and durable and is the most widely used abrasive grain. It is ideal for both woodworking and metalworking.
Hook and Loop Backing
The backing of the sanding disc is made of flocking fabric, which play the role of loops in the hook and loop fastener. When a sanding disc and a pad are pressed together, the hooks catch in the loops and the two pieces will fasten tightly during sanding. When the sanding is finished, just peel the two surfaces apart, which is quite convenient and time-saving.
5 Inch in Diameter and 8 Holes
These sanding discs are 5"/125mm in diameter and pre-punched with 8 holes for dust to extract. They are supposed to be used with sanding pads with the same holes.
10 Different Grit Sizes in International FEPA Standard
Grit size refers to the size of the particles of abrading materials embedded in the sandpaper. The higher the grit number results in a finer abrasive and will produce a smoother surface finish. This set of sanding discs includes 10 grit sizes from coarse ones (for rapid removal of material), to fine ones (for sanding finishes).
