Kohler RXT 200 Amp Whole-House Indoor/Outdoor Service-Entrance-Rated Automatic Transfer Switch
Acting as a vital part of your Kohler home backup power system, this automatic transfer switch (ATS) by Kohler continuously monitors the utility power for an interruption. If utility power fails, the transfer switch automatically transfers electrical loads from the normal source of electrical power (the utility power) to an emergency source (the generator set) when the normal source voltage or frequency falls below an acceptable level.
The RXT automatic transfer switch is designed for use only with Kohler generator sets equipped with RDC2 or DC2 generator set/transfer switch controls. The transfer switch operation is controlled by the RDC2/DC2 integrated generator set/transfer switch controller, which is mounted on the following Kohler generator set models: 14RESA, 14RESAL, 20RESA, 20RESAL, 38RCL, and 48RCL.
Voltage sensing data from the ATS is continuously transmitted to the RDC2/DC2 controller mounted on the generator set. When the normal source fails, the RDC2/DC2 controller signals the emergency source generator set to start. When the emergency source reaches acceptable levels and stabilizes, the ATS transfers the electrical load to the emergency source, which restores power to your home.
The RDC2/DC2 controller signals the ATS to transfer the load back when the normal source returns and stabilizes.
This 200 amp whole-house indoor/outdoor-rated ATS is compatible with Kohler 38RCL and 48RCL generators. It features an aluminum NEMA 3R corrosion-resistant outdoor enclosure that can withstand harsh environments.
Kohler transfer switches are shipped factory-wired, factory-tested, and ready for installation. Have the equipment installed only by trained and qualified personnel, and verify that the installation complies with applicable codes and standards.
