Our HIYILL Brand NEW FCC and UL approved ceiling fan remote control and receiver kit will work on almost 95% of US fans. It will control the light and fan functions i.e. High/Medium/Low fan speed and increase/decrease regular lightbulbs. This will work on fans with regular light bulbs ONLY(incandescent) and not fluorescent bulbs or CFL (compact fluorescent) or LED bulbs.( Battery is not included).The detailed installation instruction includes.

Answer: It will, as long as you have wires from the fan that match the remote. Look at the remote specs and check your current fan.

Answer: It shall work as long as you replace the whole kit, not take only one part to work with the existing fan.

Answer: The transmitter that is included needs to be installed.

Answer: Yes...the receiver on the fan and the remote each have selectable switched to set you own code.

Answer: The former receiver did have humming sound when it s working, now we had solved this problem in the new modified receiver.
Set them to match and your remote will turn on that reciever with the matching code. Four switches that can be set to on/off giving you 16 unique combinations.
