You can hang this bird feeder from poles, garden hooks, trees etc. using a hook or cord to secure it. Position the feeder where it is easier for you to refill and for satisfying bird watching, most importantly a safe place that birds will readily visit to.

When hanging a bird feeder, choose a location out of strong wind to minimize swaying that can discourage birds and spill seeds. Also keep the feeder away from busy traffic areas such as sidewalks or pathways where it can be bumped or tipped.

Ideally, hang your bird feeder in shaded areas to protect seeds, nectar and suet from excessive spoilage. A lightly shaded location will also provide natural light for observing and photographing birds without glare.

Watch out for squirrels or other predators when your bird feeder is near or on trees, bushes, fences or buildings as they can use them to climb or jump on it.

Check the feeder and its hook and cord regularly for signs of wear or damage that can cause the feeder to fall.
