Our extended guide rods are made of Tungsten carbide and will extend past the end of the slide on the 17/22; fit flush with the slide on the 34/35 and are slightly recessed in the 17L/24. It also works fits and functions in the new Glock 40 and Glock 41 when using the Gen 4 Recoil Assembly Adaptor Ring. They are designed to add extra weight to the muzzle of the gun to help reduce muzzle flip and felt recoil. Makes sense, more weight...less recoil. This rod includes a factory weight 17lb flatwire recoil spring. Make sure to purchase the flat wire springs shown below. What s nice about this is that you can purchase different spring weights and use just one guide rod. Total Weight W/O Spring: 46 Grams (1.622 oz.). This race series guide rod adds an additional 12 grams (0.42 oz.) of weight (over the factory length 17/22 tungsten rod) at the end of the muzzle where it is most effective. Designed to be used with ISMI recoil springs. The second picture shows the rod installed in a 34 and next to a standard length 17/22 rod. Made of Tungsten carbide. USPSA Production legal.
