As is the case with any hygrometer/thermometer, it will take this unit some time to settle on the correct temperature / humidity after placing in the battery or after placing it into a new location. We guarantee these units to be accurate within the acceptable range of error, and will warrant and replace any units that do not perform as promised. Please note: There is a metallic piece on the left upper side that serves to keep the battery in place. On occasion, this piece is pushed down when the battery is inserted. If this happens, please remove the battery, push the metallic piece back to the side and reinsert the battery. In almost 100% of all cases, this will resolve any issues that you may initially have. If you do need help, please contact us for technical support or replacement/ return. We will support our products and customer satisfaction is important to us.
