You need enter Garmin website and download Garmin USB Driver. It will automatically set up when you plug your Garmin in.

Situation 2: When PC is finding the Garmin all the time - plug it into the USB port - go to "my computer" from the start button and see if the Garmin is there - it is an external storage device so it will be near external drives.
