Detailed 1/72 scale assembly model kit of the Nieuport 28 (N.28C-1), a World War I era French biplane fighter aircraft. By the time the Nieuport 28 entered service in 1918, the French Air Force had settled on the vastly superior SPAD S.XIII fighter aircraft. The United States Army Air Service, however, was short of fighter aircrafts to equip its projected Pursuit Squadrons, and the Nieuport 28 was adopted by the American Expeditionary Force as an interim alternative. Famous American fighter aces such as the then Lieutenant Eddie Rickenbacker, began their operational careers on the Nieuport 28.
